Just rented two anime films I've been anxious to see: Ninja Scroll and Metropolis. I got to rent one of them free, because of some Blockbuster deal or whatnot.
EDIT: thought Ninja Scroll was great, but Metropolis was just downright amazing. Loved it.
Recently bought Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Going to watch it tomorrow, during lunch.

On Saturday I watched The Ghost and the Darkness. I had seen the two lions in question at the Field Museum in Chicago last month, and wanted to see the movie about them. It was pretty good, though a bit gross watching the lions munch on people like they were mice!
I picked up Corpse Bride and hope to watch it when things settle down a bit at home (we are all taking turns passing around a really nasty tummy bug).

I received Ghost In The Shell in the post this morning. I really enjoyed it, but I think I might watch it again sometime soon. I was kind of lost for much of it because I didn't really have any idea what was going on. It was about an hour in before I realised what the characters were referring to by the term "ghost".
I also have Metropolis on its way, but I've seen it before (and loved it).
And on the non-anime front, I got American Beauty yesterday - I'd seen it before but was distracted. I like it. And Das Boot, which I haven't seen, I've also ordered. (I went on a DVD spree

One of my favorite movies ever. We used to watch it in high school World History all the time. I want to go to Chicago just to see those lions.duchess of malfi wrote:On Saturday I watched The Ghost and the Darkness.
