Looking for quote from the Creator, I believe...?

Post by rxinhed »

Hi All, I'm 'rxinhed', that is rocks in head for being a geologist. I read the two Chronicles several times and I am seeking a quotation paraphrased thusly "However he me assial you....however you avoid his snares, they are always beset by others..." Where is this from, spoken by who(m), and such?

Thanks

Welcome to the Watch!

The first part is the Old Man speaking to Linden Avery at the beginning of The Wounded Land, at the end of Chapter 1.
Ah, my daughter, do not fear. You will not fail, however he may assail you. There is also love in the world. Be true.
The second part is Mhoram speaking to Covenant in Andelain, also in The Wounded Land at the end of Chapter 12.
Remember that he always seeks to mislead you. It boots nothing to avoid his snares, for they are ever beset with other snares, and life and death are too intimately intergrown to be severed from each other.
Hope this helps - enjoy your time here on the Watch!

Thanks for filling in the blanks for me. It has been too long since I've read the books, now I see I've missed another Chronicle. Time to catch up!

Welcome to the Watch rxinhed. :D
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.
