Oh come on, they'll lovingly eat your followers - and it's on THAT feeling of love you're going to play so as to make all demons happy, satisfied, lovable demonlings which your people will use as models for demon plushies...Bhakti wrote:You're a funny guy. Actually, I was thinking of the Northern army. But since their credo seems to be "Destroy Knowledge and any who aid Knowledge" I don't think risking my followers is the wisest move. heh

Does this mean that turn 8 will end on Tuesday midnight? (This will be good for me, otherwise I would have to miss it entirely due to public holidays.)Xar wrote:Due to RL circumstances, the end of turn 6 is posticipated to 12 pm GMT on Wednesday... sorry guys, I really can't make it before that time!
If so, as it is, I'll only be here for the first day of turn 7, and the last of 8, but that's better than nothing.

Even being the god of luck, I don't expect everything to go my way. But when I actually expend divine rank points, I expect something to happen, or at the very least, not get ****** by the very thing I spent my points to prevent.

As I also privately explained to Solus, the chance of one group of adventurers showing up and doing anything of note is very tiny, and the chance of TWO groups doing the same is almost nil; but once again, statistics puts its ugly nose where it doesn't belong, and there we go. For the record, normal adventurers have the "ability" to cancel a random event or 1-DRP exertion for the god they showed up as events - in this case, they canceled the exertion Solus put up to protect L'im Verthackas.Murrin wrote:Yes, the L'im Verthackas thing does seem unfair.
Query: Will we see an updated map soon?
Epic adventurers cancel 1d4 events from any gods (not just the god they were rolled up for), which in this case were Solina's madness, the efforts of an unnamed deity in keeping the rift open, and the foundation of L'im Verthackas, which translated into the city's destruction.
Incompetent adventurers add another event to the deity they show up for, instead.
The chance any of these three categories shows up for any given deity is about 2-3% every turn, so while they are eventually bound to show up, a deity might reasonably go on for 20-30 turns without seeing them. Of course, the more gods are out there, the greater the chance that a team of adventurers will show up, which has implications for several gods only in the case of epic adventurers.
Statistics dictate that a group of epic adventurers should show up every three to four turns when there are thirteen gods present; for ease's sake, these adventurers cannot cancel events that are older than eight turns (two years of game time).

Except I put two points into it, not to mention significant non-DRP effort as I've mentioned in my response PM. One the turn before which had no results. The second... well, we know what happened there.Xar wrote:For the record, normal adventurers have the "ability" to cancel a random event or 1-DRP exertion for the god they showed up as events - in this case, they canceled the exertion Solus put up to protect L'im Verthackas.
I can get that bad dice rolls are the motivation. I just don't think the execution makes sense.
But fine. I'll make the best of it and move on.

Hey fellow Gods & Goddess (mad beyotch that you are, Solina!)
My alter ego (frail human creature that she is) has had pretty nasty health issues over the past week, and checked herself into ER on Monday night. She is now on a heap of drugs and undergone a battery of tests to find out wtf is wrong with her. I will leave my followers in Ryddi's capable (and oh-so-sexy) hands over the easter break, as I will have to channel all sorts of natural majick to heal my alter ego. She gets the test results tonight. She is only at work at the moment to tidy up a few loose ends before her 5 day break.
Please forgive my absence.

Any answer to this?

Sorry, didn't notice the question. No, for ease's sake every mortal who chooses to worship the gods must choose a single patron deity. It is assumed that the mortal acknowledges all deities, and prays to this or that deity occasionally, when it's needed (for example, one of Movahl's worshipers could pray to Bhakti before proposing to his girlfriendBhakti wrote:Any answer to this?Bhakti wrote:And what of dual worship?
