Hail Lord Humungus, be welcome and true. :D
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

When I found this site I was very pleased to see so many fans of the series. You have done a splendid job dissecting the novels and your insights have made my third read through of the books my most enjoyable yet!

So thank you to all who contributed to the 'Dissecting The Land' threads and I look forward to reading the remainder of those discussions in the coming months!
Welcome! Glad to hear that you're enjoying the dissections! Feel free to contribute as well!

I managed to miss this topic at first and so posted my own topic. Don't ask, I don't know how. Just talented that way.

So, anyways. Hey! I'm new, as I previously mentioned. It's nice to see so many other Stephen R. Donaldson fans. Seems whenever I ask others about him they claim to never have heard of him. 'Tis a shame, if you ask me. SRD is an *amazing* writer...so it's great to be here. :D

Thank you kindly, people!

'Chuchichastli' means 'Kitchen Cupboard' in Schweizertuutch, the Swiss dialect of German (I'm half swiss on my mother's side). The other half of me is Welsh. Confusing, no? ;)

It's hard to pronounce if you're not Swiss, the 'Ch' sound is not 'Ch' as in 'Cheese', but more like 'Ch' as in...when you clear your throat of excess flem...

I've been a big fan of SRD since the late 80s and was thrilled when Runes came out. Looking forward to the occasional literary speculation - so few fantasy series are worth it! :D

Hello all.

Happy to meet fellow fans of TC and SRD. I can't believe I only recenlty found this site, having been one of the origional readers of both the TC series way back when and waiting breathlessly for the next book to be published, just like we are all now waiting for FR next year.

My TC info: read each book 4 times, just finished Runes oddly enough (been a bit too busy to read for some time.) Just got my ebay'd Atlas of the Land book and so now my TC life is complete at this point. Fav book is TIW, cause it is just so gut wretching and full of passages of unparalleled human honor and heroism. Fav Char is Lord Mhoram, followed by that chatty gadfly Vain.

To paraphrase Foamfollower, Joy is in the eyes that Read, so I look forward to reading folks varying takes on this best fant series of all time.

See ya in the threads.

"Newbie"

Post by fujiin0507 »

Just a quickie to say hello and it is a delight to be among those who get it.

It's been many years since I had the pleasure to start 'the journey' w/LFB.

Finishing WGW was one of the saddest days of my life...but then...

To my wonderful surprise I received a miracle...the 'resurrection' of Covenant...the journey has begun again...I can't thank you enough Mr. Donaldson.

I waited. I waited and purchased the hard backs to the 2nd Chronicles as a young man...and now I'm about to wait again. So many years later.

I only have a few pages left of Runes. Resuming the story will be sweeter than any aliantha.

Thank you again...for The Last Chronicles...and for this site; which is certainly not something I had back then...as I waited. :yourock:
