But the impact of the ruin of the Land was great.

TWL remains one of, if not the favourite books in the series for me. Everything broken...wow.

Hello all. I recently rediscovered SRD and The Chronicles. I read book three of the first series back when I was a sophomore in high school, that was 1979. I have to admit that I didn't really know what was happening in the book when I first read it. I read it for a book report assignment but didn't really do it justice. I loved the concept of being summoned to a different Land but couldn't really get past SRD's prose.

I got older, things changed...

At various times in the last 27 years I planned to buy Lord Foul's Bane and start the series fresh. About 2 months ago I actually made good on my promise to myself and bought all 3 of the first series. I am going to read them ALL, back-to-back, through The Runes of the Earth.

Right now, I'm almost done with The Illearth War and I'm LOVING it!!

I'm glad to see that this place exists. I can tell it will be a valuable resource as I make my way through these wonderful stories.

Yay! I'm the first to welcome someone!!

Welcome to the forum tjtull. Please watch your step, the floors are slippery.

Also please keep in mind some simple forum rules:

No spitting.
No cutting in line (unless you're cutting in front of Matrixman)
Don't hit the other members unless they deserve it.
All fights are to be resolved with pillows.
Do everything Luci says.

;)

Welcome again to the coolest forum on the interwebthingy.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll try to maintain my self-discipline. I try not to get in arguments on discussion forums. So, I should be OK there.
Otherwise, very glad to be on board.

tjtull, welcome to the Watch. :D

Oh, and the bit about Luci - all lies. ;)

I don't know what that means, and I don't want to know. I will blissfully ignore attempts to enlighten me.

Many thanks for all the welcomes. I'm nearing the end of The Illearth War. Need to visit the Dissecting the Land forum to see what theories abound.

Can't wait to re-read The Power that Preserves.
