Just gotta talk....

Post by hyperdrv5 »

Good morning everyone. First let me say how excited I am to find this forum and discover that like myself there are Land junkies out there who share in what I thought was an isolated fan base. I may be sheltered but I have only discovered one other who loved these books as I and he's lost to history. We used to discuss both trilogys on MSN since I am in the U.S. and he was in England but we've lost our contact info. I remember how enchanted I felt when I first read Lord Fouls Bane. I was so ready to go and live there...LOL I started the books before the second trilogy was out..I remember waiting for The One Tree after reading The Wounded Land and being so tee'd at LF because of the damage to my beloved Land. Sort of like now awaiting the second book of the final tril. I may start to ramble here but I've never had anyone who had read the books and could discuss them with any understanding. My wife has rolled her eyes many times as I get out the first book and dust it off in prep to read them all again.. I suppose with all the things we deal with in everyday life these books are a great escape. Finding this place and looking it over after being alone in my thoughts and how SRD, through the books, made the Land come alive in my mind and all you folks with the nicknames that are so familiar to me and the pictures that have been uploaded, especially the ones that give a glimpse of what the characters might look like and the land, just makes my day. Well enough of this and I'm sorry for the ramble but I appreciate you all and the posts and insights. I can truly feel the kindred spirits.
