Trust me Av, I've been thinking about it.....

Now here's the question...do I get him a ring?

Depends on how traditional HE is...and how traditional your and his parents are. Trust me, L...when you marry, you not only marry the boy or girl, but her or his parents as well. If everyone would be thrilled or at least cool with the gender role reversal, then i say go for it!

Normally, I am not one to cleave onto gender reols so solidly, but you don't want to start a nuclear/extended family with in-Laws or direct family that frwons on your beginnings.
My parents are no longer with us so I don't have to worry about what they think. The rest of my family just wants to see us together and I'm worried that one of them will propose for him....

His dad is passed on but his mom is still around....she might be an issue. On the surface she wants us married but beneath the surface she still wants him at her beck and call when she needs something.....

Yeah? Forget about "traditional" roles...load of nonsense. Let them frown.

Good question about the ring...my first impulse is to say no. Propose, then suggest shopping for rings together. :D (Assuming he accepts. ;) )
