It is very clever!
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

looks like we have our first nomination and second for next year, eh?
and since nobody seems to remember , I'll tell you the story now.
When I first joined KW (my very first forum ) there was a link for all the unanswered posts. Being a n00b beyond all n00bs, I thought the unanswered posts were a bad thing, so I proceeded to spend the next couple hours replying to every unanswered post "heh". Post after post after post after post, just "heh", just so there wouldn't be anymore unanswered posts. The Watch was in an uproar!
heh.

I saw so many incredible avatars here, I had to meet a high standard! Thanks all.
Balon and I were chatting after I made it about the futility of Rock, Paper, Scissors among the Haruchai. First, because they would already know what the other was going to choose, and second, because of this and because of their natural preferences, they might always just choose rock! Over, and over, and over, and over. For millenia.

Welcome and be true, brotherbenji
The death of Foamfollower was upsetting to me as well,
but not as much as when the the Giants were found slaughtered in Seareach.
Another moment that actually got a strong reaction was one simple word spoken... "Nom"
I stood up from my chair and was on the verge of gasping in surprise and cheering aloud.
Anyway, have fun here and enjoy the company.
And don't be shy.
You'll probably end up liking us crazies sooner or later...

Words, words, words
I've been reminded that as new poster I should stand on the tip of Kevin's Watch and introduce myself. I hope you can all see me through the Dirt.
Like many, I read the original series in the Red/Blue/Green paperbacks in high school and still have them. By the time I discovered the Chronicles, the second trilogy was well underway. I remember getting WGW in hardback as soon as it came out.
I've read the series a few times, and some sequences stay with me years and years later. (For my money, THE ONE TREE is still my favorite --- it was one miraculous invention after another. I was still gaping in delight by the time we got to the Nicor and the merewives)
I made sure FR was on my holiday list, and I finished it a couple of days ago. Now I have to start the three-year wait for the next book. Whether or not the last Chronicles equals the achievement of the first two, it's a pleasure to get one last walk in the Land.
The other author I have on my shelves in equally complete collections (that is, all the basic books, and some of the others) is Dorothy Dunnett. I don't have all the detective novels of either author.
Basic bio info is that I'm 45, married with two kids, and work as an "information specialist" (mainframe computers).
My main avocation is writing song lyrics -- all of my lyrics, and song demos I've managed to put together with people over the internet can be found at my website, zmulls.com. ("Yellow Mailbox" is the song most people enjoy hearing first).
Happy to be here and I'll enjoy hearing other reactions to the new series as it unfolds.
Z.

There is a story behind the name "Z. Mulls" though it's a tedious one that would bore even a giant, frankly.Avatar wrote:Zmulls, Nulls, anybody else suspicious?

FWIW, it's my chosen pen name for my songwriting, and I've been using it in one form or another online for many years. There's no "secret Covenant-related" meaning, I'm afraid!
Hertzlich Wilkomen to the Watch Z!
Kick your feet up, sign up for an FR disection chapter, and poke all the other members as we tediously wait for the next installment.
hmmm.. "mainframes?" this boy musta fallen through a caesure or something

There's no place like 127.0.0.1
