"Hello"
Hello
I've been asked to say hello and to introduce myself.
I am -Raver- new to this forum.
I read the 1st and 2nd chronicles of Thomas Covenant back in the early 1980s in high school. A friend of mine told me about the series, lent me the first book, and I was hooked.
20-or-so years later, after I had long forgotten about the books and long lost my own battered paperbacks, I saw a copy of Runes of Earth in my local bookstore. I was dumbfounded and amazed and of course I bought it the moment I saw it.
Even though I had almost no memory of anything that had happened in the original six books, I read Runes right through to the end - couldn't put it down - only to discover that it had a cliffhanger ending, and that it'd probably be a year or three before the next book came out.
So I put it on my shelf and figured I'd just forget about it all.
Then last week I discovered that the next book has been published, so I have ordered a copy (wanted the hardcover) - and rather than read it as soon as it arrives, I am instead going to take this opportunity to go back and read the original series for what will be the second time, planning to read everything from Lord Foul's Bane up to Fatal Revenant.
I am a very different person now than I was back in 1983, and have no idea if I will still like those books as much now as I did then.
But I am putting together a new collection of the series and am looking forward to rediscovering these old favorites.

Welcome to the Watch Raver.
If you're rereading the books from the beginning, after a long hiatus, you may want to avoid the forums for the 12st, 2nd, and 3rd Chrons until you're done. Especially in the combined 1st & 2nd Chrons forum, spoilers will abound for books further in those two series. (But not the 3rd Chrons, those books have their own forums.)
Join in anywhere else too though.
Have fun.

thank you all for the welcome backs, and welcome to the noobs!
I don't think it's silly Dilly, and you're right Kevin's Watch does get under your skin and refuse to let go. Even when you find yourself swamped with work you inevitably waste time here.

I live in my own little world...but its okay, they know me here!
