Good for you, Lyr!
I fully intended to clean the house today, or maybe go on a hike or something. Instead, I spent the whole day knitting a baby blanket for my niece.
The good news, tho, is the baby blanket is finished, whoo hoo! Now I can move on to knitting something for myself!
(And it's a good thing the blanket is done because I got an invitation in the mail yesterday to a baby shower for her that's next month. Dunno if I'll go -- it's in Chicago -- but at least now I'm ready.)

I'm a little sad. I was going to be heading over to the US for three months in late July, but those plans have now fallen through.
I wanted to go to Colonial Williamsburg.

I wanted to go to Colonial Williamsburg.

Williamsburg in August is one sweaty place. Maybe you can reschedule for early October and catch the fall colors.

Av- So, curious as to what "cold" is, I looked up a weather website thing for SA. I saw, much to my amazement, that right now it is INDEED pretty cold, with temperatures around 15* for a lot of the area. But then I thought to myself... wait, that's not right. It'd be snowing. Hmm... Oh! Celsius! I don't really even know what 20* Celsius IS. So got another handy little website to do a conversion for me. Turns out that 15*C is 59*F. Now, there would have been a point in time, maybe about six months ago, when I would have laughed at the idea that 59* is cold.
But now I understand. And I sympathize. And if I could send my weather to you in a box, I would.

Edit- I just realized that you're exactly 12 hours ahead of me, Av. That's kinda cool.
Edit2- The obvious solution is to come take a winter vacation in Hawaii. Bring the lady. We'll climb waterfalls.

Still, those were daytime high's you were looking at...todays was 13°C (55.4°F). Right now though, it's around 5°C (41°F) and it's cold.

Hahaha, yes it is. It means I'm sitting here freezing while you're enjoying some mid-morning sunshine.Wadds wrote:Edit- I just realized that you're exactly 12 hours ahead of me, Av. That's kinda cool.
Now that sounds like a plan. And we're unemployed, so we've got free time.Wadds wrote:Edit2- The obvious solution is to come take a winter vacation in Hawaii. Bring the lady. We'll climb waterfalls.

$1,800 USD on Expedia, Av. Start selling your body for money and I'll do the same. Between the two of us, we'll have you here in no time. I even know the cheapest Hotel in Waikiki. Boy, could I tell you stories about that place.... ooooh, boy.
Reisheiruhime- I like the way you think.
