very complicated........my middle name is Lorin. Actually it is Lorrin, it was supposed to be Lauren but my father could not spell. 8O

Wasn't there something in one of the first trilogy that speaks about a name being too small? so my name may be small compared to most here, but my heart is big (at least I hope it is).

When I first logged onto Kevin's Watch and was asked for a user name the book sitting next to me that I'd borrowed from the local library was Krazy Kat & Ignatz: Love Letters In Ancient Brick. For lack of anything better I chose the cat's name.

What I discovered when I began to issue posts was that my user name was like a get-out clause; an aegis. I would imagine (like Alice Through the Looking Glass) an internet cat that could enter and exit the monitor screen. So whenever I'm just being silly or making genuine mistakes it's my 'internet cat' that dodges the (real or imaginary) slings and arrows. Well, ok...so maybe I am a bit crazy!

I just wanted a handle to fit the forum topic. Funny how many of these are taken already.

As for Percipience, I just liked the word and what it means in the land. I think Donaldson just made it up. He seems to be good at that. Or at least he's good at choosing really cool obscure words to capture exactly what he wants to communicate.

Hi Percipience

Welcome to the Watch

I just noticed the word yesterday while I was reading through the chapter Aided by Ur-Viles in the first part of Runes of the Earth.

Isn't it interesting how Linden says to Liand when he lifts the iron bowl of vitrim to his lips :spew: , 'just a sip' 8O and then :D

I chose" hearthrall " because I didnt see it used. Also I didnt think that the title was given enough explanation in the books. To me the Hearthrall was a person who was like a underlord, the guy who gets his hands dirty on behalf of the many, kinda like a family man..."Dad my car won't start" " Honey , the clothes washer won,t stop filling with water"...etc. And Antonicus is the Roman version of my name, and it dosent sound too bad in the Land...so there :)

No matter the reason, I for one welcome feline user names (I really miss Emotional Leopard, BTW). Of course, I still don't understand what Orlion's talking about....Ckaulom? WTF?

I went with a Raver for a couple reasons...

...no one else on the sight was a Raver...
...the name kindof allowed me to have fun somewhat acting out my avatar when foruming...
...very few on the sight had an evil avatar name...
...I always loved SRDs way of naming the Ravers...

Have I posted here before? I don't remember.

There's actually a long story behind my name, and it was originally "Waddley Hasselhoff" but now I just use it because it sounds funny. Go on, say it. Waddley. Doesn't that feel good? Waaaaddley. Take a nice, deep breath and say my name as you exhale. That's right. You're doing great.

That's all I got.

Yeah, we've had several Ravers. Turiya Foul has been here for years (though she's changed her name now to a Japanesification of her real name), and there was another just Turiya, and a Moksha, and I think also a Jehannum at one point.

No other Ravers called Jacob though. :P

And don't forget Sheol.
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.
