While I freely admit that I have not been here as long as Av, after 7+ months and nearly 600 posts, I don't feel like a n00b here...

To be fair to SD, I think a lot of the trash talking regarding the 'tank happens behind the scenes via PMs or MSN, what have you. So he may not have been exposed to it so much as others.

Well, there certainly is a lot of trash talking in the Tank and in some of the GT forums (some of it downright mean-spirited), which was my initial point in contrasting them with the civility among competitors in Mallorys.

As for trash being talked about the Tank (or the GT games), I certainly have not seen anywhere near as much of that as I see disparagement of Mallorys. Obviously, I have no knowledge of what anyone says in PMs or any other communications other than open posts.

In any case, this side discussion in not germane to the purpose of this thread. Anyone have any posting level milestones to crow about?

 Don't worry, we don't think of you as one. Or anybody really for that matter. Nah, I was just teasing because after nearly 5 years...in fact...I think it is 5 years...of modding the 'Tank, I've heard plenty of disparagement about it, some deserved, some not. :D

[Edit: Yep...it was 5 years ago yesterday in fact...and I'm still largely sane. :D Thanks guys. )

Not to ass-kiss, but you do a fantastic job of keeping things as civil as possible. There are toes stepped on here and there, but it does run much more smoothly than any other political discussions that I've seen elsewhere. I do think it would run smoother if everyone agreed with everything that I say and believe though. :D

Don't we all. ;)

Must say I'm helped to a great degree by the Watchers themselves...I like to believe that in general we're of a higher standard than your run of the mill internet forum.

(Don't go making a liar of me guys... ;) )

Agreed. As you've stated Av, there does seem to be a code that most of the Watchers in the Tank try to adhere to and hold others to, but I think a lot of the smoothness also arises from your diligence to observe what's going on in the tank and moderating between opinions. Here's to at least another five years of you modding the Tank!

30,000 posts. I think I have to go and ban myself now.

As soon as I finish in the 'Tank.
