Hey Tracie. Like Xar said, it's not how long you live - it's how well you live. I've never heard of anyone living better than you have. We talk about Mozart, Chopin, and Schubert, always wondering what would have happened if they'd lived a few more decades, instead of dying in their 30s. And yeah, maybe they would have accomplished more great things. But the reason we discuss them is that they already did accomplish greatness. There's many, many, many people who lived into their 80s and 90s that we don't discuss, eh?

Yeah, I know, my point is difficult to see in all that. I can't figure out how to word it. But the gist of it is this: You done good, sweetheart!! You did yourself proud! You did the world proud! I love you.
All lies and jest
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest

And through this thread, as well as a myriad other ways we barely know the surface details of, you will continue to do good and make the world proud.

I don't know most of you here, or even Furls Fire for that matter. But my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

January 5, 2008 my father's 6 year battle with colon cancer came to an end. It wasn't easy losing him so young. Those who really know me know the long, sad story of my father's cancer. Words cannot express watching him go through the pain.

I'm native to Houston. Born and raised and lived there the first 20 years of my life. So we were fortunate to be so close to M.D. Anderson when my father was diagnosed. I'm not very religious, but I will say M.D. Anderson was a godsend for my father. I don't think he would have lasted as long as he did had it not been for M.D. Anderson. I'm so very glad that she got to be there.

And she's home, now. Where she should be. Surrounded by the ones who love her.

It's not easy, I know. I've been there. But you'll get through this. You have more strength than you know.

My thoughts, prayers and love are with you and your family.

YES |G There is no place that has had a greater effect on me, and others, for the better, than right here, reading this thread. Because of you, Furls, and those surrounding you.

There is no greater power than that of Love, and to us, God is Love. Mom is still here, she holds on. And we are cherishing every moment God is granting us with her.

This is what it means
to be held
when the sacred is torn from your life
and you survive

This is what it means
to be loved and to know
that the promise was
when everything fell, we'd be held...
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Poem I wrote specifically for Furls. Posting at Brooke's request!

Sweet sister; mother; Savior
Of so many, hear this song
Sweeter than the wind, reaching
So bright the sun retires, jealous

You mingle in the water, rock
And leaf; your song flows
Between all points, so fragile
It shakes the earth

Halls your Father has prepared
Names and faces reside, outlines
Of rivers, trees; sun bends down
On hills beyond shape or describe
On a palace of winds, so warm
Hold his Hand, sweet Sister
Burn in love beyond the word Love

She deserves her own cathedral, you ask me! :Hail: And were the world graced by only one soul of her kind, that world would be of eternal value.

Furls, you are an example to me of how a life is lived with purpose and passion. I'm glad I got to know you, if only via our chats. I'm glad I got to join in dissecting the Chronicles with you, Isaiah and the rest of the Watch gang: our shared journey through the great work that connected us all was the most joyous and meaningful time spent at KW for me. I will cherish it always. And I'm glad I got to know your brother, through his writings here. When I joined KW, I was "just" an SRD fan, but in time I also became a Tracie and Stephen C. fan.

I'm glad you are back with your family. My heart is still heavy with grief, but I know there is peace and love up there on the Mountain. That is what matters.

Through the writings of Stephen and Tracie, they are truly immortal, inspiring beings...they have, and will continue to, change the hearts of people they have never met. I wish more people could read these threads and be touched as I have.

Namaste,
Keith

I am glad you followed the posted links on Facebook to here, Keith.
I think you are my only high school classmate here on the Watch, and I am so glad you have also come to know Stephen and Tracie.

I didn't realize that the Watch was back up, I just put this update up on Mom's facebook page....

Hi Everyone, Brooke here. Mom spoke yesterday. :-) she said "I love you" and when Dad asked her if she wanted to go, she said. "Go where?". I don't know, maybe we are all grasping at a miracle that won't happen, but just hearing her say those few words brought us such joy and hope. God is beyond all understanding, We may get that miracle.

Thank you for posting that poem in here David. I read it to Mom, she smiled. :) I keep reading her all the posts everyone is making. I believe she understands because her smile never wavers.

Hugs and love to all.

There was a small chat group on messenger last night with your Dad.
There was much rejoicing when he told us that. :grinlove:

Much Love and Light still being sent towards the Mountain!
Hold faith in Stevie's sight...
