When he was talking about me going back to Houston, a myriad of voices all shouted at me "NO!' I will probably not leave the Mountain again. I go from here when I go. And I will go, I know this, not today or tomorrow, but it will not be long. There are few things I still need to do here, and when they are done I will walk through.

I've read through the thread, and all the sadness this illness has brought to you all breaks my heart. The last thing I want to do is cause all my friends here pain. And I read pain. Of course, I know Love ultimately brings pain. Love can be glorious, joyous...ah but it can also bring unimaginable sorrow, crushing agony. This life has brought both to me. When I go, I hope you all will find joy in my passing and will remember me with that joy in your hearts. No sorrow.

Ah, such depressing words for the day before Thanksgiving. May tomorrow's gatherings of friends and family bring you all great happiness.

I love you all. God bless. |G
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

That's cuz you don't know what it was saying. LG's are pretty petty, ya know. Honestly, if you don't put them in their place...

So Furls Fire goes into a bar one day, and orders two drinks. The bartender looks confused, and asks if she's expecting company. (He was actually hitting on her, but she didn't realize that.) "No, one's from my brother." The bartender looks confused, but shrugs, and gets back to other customers. And Stephen says, "What's his problem?"

(Sorry, best I could do. I'm not a joke writer, and there is good reason for that.)

The best I've ever seen it said:
In The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran wrote: When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire, that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure,
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

Furls I just want you to know... Your passing (when the time comes.. be that a day, a week, a month or a year) will cause some sadness but its only because we want you to stay here with us.

I also want you to know this.... The idea that you might pass after all the good you have done in this world has bothered me alot over the last couple of months. But as I was praying about this a couple of weeks ago, I was directed to let it go.... its not my decision to make and its not a burden I 'have' to carry. I wasnt surprised that after that you were given the gift of more time. Every day.. every hour and every minute is a gift and a miracle!

Giving this back to God and letting go has given me alot of peace about this and has taught me an important lesson. So yet again God has been using your life to keep teaching me lessons.

When I see you there in Heaven when its my time to go..... I will be giving you a great big hug in greeting and thanks for all the lessons you and your family continue to teach me!
We miss you Tracie but your Spirit will always shine brightly on the Watch Image

I didn't even see that post of Tracie's before SoulBiter just quoted it! Then I saw it was only 3 minutes before my post, so you probably posted it after I started posting.

*sigh*

It's like I told Jordan. I know that you are not concerned for your own death. Your only concern is in how it hurts those who would miss you. Therefore, I'm not worried either. That is, I'm not worried for you.

Of course, this is all hypothetical. I expect you to be around for a long time. A very long time. (Probably arguing with me every step of the way.)

Don't get too prophetic on us, Furls...no one knows how long anyone has. For you to bounce back from this shows the inability to predict life, and I'm sure your kids want you around a few more decades...

Ah, Tracie. |G

We love you and will miss you when you go. But nobody yet has gotten out of this thing alive. ;) When you need to go, go. We'll be fine. Okay, not right away, of course. But eventually, we'll be fine.
