Too late - the damage is done.Seareach wrote: Oh but you don't look nearly 40 Caggy!! I did think later that I might get myself in a world of trouble using the word "old" in association with the figure of 40. Sorry about that!!!!

I'm 40 now. I think I got my mid-life crisis out of the way at 27. So that must mean I should expect to die at 54. Either that or I had my mid-life crisis by becoming more responsible and having a kid.matrixman wrote:So, Menolly and aliantha, have you two already had your mid-life crises? Not to speak for Sea, but one reason I'm apprehensive about turning forty is because I figure that's when my own mid-life crisis will leap from the bushes and bite me.

MM -- Hmm. I am trying to remember whether I had a midlife crisis or not. I don't think so. Unless you count the trip to Spain, but that was when I turned 50....
The only thing sucky about turning 40 was that almost immediately, I needed reading glasses. It was like the warranty expired or something.
Otherwise, 40 wasn't bad -- and 50 has been even better.

But you did, neo.matrixman wrote:Oh. Uh-oh.
Er, let's just pretend I didn't ask that question, Menolly...
You did...

I don't think I needed them when I turned 40, but my ophthalmologist insisted I get bifocals at that time, claiming I would be back within the year if I didn't...aliantha wrote:The only thing sucky about turning 40 was that almost immediately, I needed reading glasses. Thanks y'all!
Even though I have chosen to wait for the book, SRD and Romeo gave me a terrific birthday gift with the release of the trailer and first chapter of AATE, eh?
