No idea what the problem is Rus. As long as you're logged in once you start trying to post, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you want, try deleting all your cookies, going to the index page, and logging in afresh, telling it to remember you.
You could also try a different browser, and see if you have the same problem.

Here's the next element in the saga -
It seems that when, at the site home page, I click directly on the link to the forums, I get that I am not logged in. But if I right click and open in a new tab, then I get that I am logged in.
