Pruning is hard work and i'm lazy

Hi sgt.null, Menolly, Avatar and... Vain! Lazy sounds OK by me.

I read somewhere that Donaldson says he takes 45 minutes to write a 10-sentence email and that's about me on a good day, lol. A few words though--I read the 1st and 2nd trilogies back in the seventies and eighties and only recently found out there was more. So I've re-read through the first trilogy and have just arrived at Elesmedene, so to speak, in The One Tree. The joys of the third series still await!

Welcome Carillon, I just finished lsitening to the 2nd Chronicles on Audio (First re-reading of it in over 10 years) . This morning I left off with the process of being transported to the Land in the First Book of the 3rd Chronicles.

Thanks for the welcome, sindatur. I think I'd like to try an audio version some time too. With other books I've found their audio version to bring a new perspective, but it would have to be very well done in this case.

The First Chronicles you can find at Scott Brick's site for download, and are extremely well done.

The Second Chronicles are out of print, and can be found via torrent, though, each book of the Second Chronicles is done by a different person, and none of them very good. Scott Brick will be recording them sometime in the near future, he has rights to them now, so, I will definitely be replacing my Second Chronicles Discs when Scott has them available.

Runes of the Earth, was available commercially (Not sure if Scott has Runes on his site or not?) and he has Fatal Revenant available on his site for Download, both of them also excellent.

You can find a link to Scott's site at the bottom of the main Forum page, the First Chronicles, Runes and Fatal Revenant, are most definitely worth the investment IMHO.

I love being able to listen to them during my commute to and from work, since I don't really ahve any reading time available, Audiobooks during my daily commute is how I get my reading done these days.

Scott also has a "Classics in their original form" line, I have Frankenstein, the original read from the original printing of the book, and it is excellent, and very different from what we've come to know from the movies.

Carillon, welcome! Oh, and I'm going to bother you with advice already - just post what you're thinking, in the worst case, you can delete your account yourself after that

Also, there are many threads where you can talk on any topic and some where you can take part in different things. Like the one with presenting yourself to the Ranyhyn for consideration kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11514&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Also there's a thread Lord Foul started kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20790 - you can either grovel before him there, or state your opinion about that, depending on your preferences. And a lot of threads and posts with people's ideas, thoughts etc - you can simply write what you think on them. And just don't worry too much about things like "feeling unloquacious".

I don't even know who this Loquacious guy is, so I've probably never felt like him, but, if you look at my post count, you'll see I talk a fair amount

The Kenneth Branagh one was pretty good. It's the only one I've ever seen that actually told the story the way the book told it.

That's really good info--thanks, sindatur! Inertia will keep me plowing through the texts for now but I have the feeling I'll probably want to go over all the books again, just to keep myself happy until The Last Dark is released, so the audio versions could be just the thing!

I would indeed like to take a walk on the Plains of Ra--how cool! Thanks for those suggestions, Effaeldm (Lord Foul might have to wait until I'm feeling ornery).

And I just thought it would be prudent to mention my unloquacious side in case anyone noticed me playing sudoku or something equally wordless and solitary when I should really have been answering their post

Hello everyone ^.^ Phyllis here. I'm Lord Zombiac's fiancée.

I recently met some of you at Elohimfest this past weekend. I feel a little silly getting on board without yet reading any of SRD's books, but I'll have things to discuss about 'em soon enough. I can't put it off any longer.

Its a bit mixed up in the way that this has happened:

-met his fans
-met him
-joined the watch
-then read his books

Funny, right?

But let me say that SRD has some really super readers out there. I had an great time in Albuquerque with you. I won't forget it! You're ALL tops in my book!

i really, really, really wish we could have stopped by your mountain on the way home. if the invite is till open i would love to try and make it sometime in the future. meeting you and zom was a highlight for me.
