What is he building?
I finished Against All Things Ending about two months ago. I'm anxious to see how it all plays out. There are so many players this time around.
I feel like Donaldson's building one of Jeremiah's constructs. It could all fit to create something truly staggering or it could topple like a Jenga tower, leaving expectations scattered across the floor.
I have faith though. Either way, it will be sad to have the story conclude. If it wraps up as well as the Gap Cycle or the first trilogy...or even the second...I shall be satisfied.

*In a world full of people... only some want to fly. Isn't that crazy? ~ Seal

*Tonight's the night. And it's going to happen, again and again. It has to happen. ~ Dexter Morgan
*In two words, a story sadder than the first. Say no more – with one word you will make me weep. ~ Saltheart Foamfollower

Riding by to say "hi."
I'm new- just saying "hi." (Please don't prune me!)
I finally got my hands on AATE last November. I went back and reread the "Final Chronicles" leading up to that first, and then read AATE a couple of pages at a time, trying to make it last as long as possible. I just finished it a couple of weeks ago; it took months to get through. Now I've decided to reread the first chronicles; it's been a good 25 years since I've read it. It took me two days to read Lord Foul's Bane. Conclusions from all of that:
1. Fatal Revenant is possibly the best book I've ever read.
2. Lord Foul's Bane is pretty rough. There's several points in that book where, compared to the Thomas Covenant character, Lord Foul seems like a pleasant, easy-going fellow.
That's where I'm at. Please direct my feet- where should I go next?

Welcome, Ur-vile Rider! Just poke around here and there -- the Watch has a lot to offer.
There's a locked forum for AATE. If you haven't done so already, you should send a pm to one of the mods of that forum so they'll let you in.

in reply to your kind question...
Thank you very much. I call it the ur-vile; it's a Triumph. I considered getting vanity plates saying "urvile," but then I considered potentially alienating everyone with something that could be read "you are vile." (!!)
Ur-Vile Rider
-waves vigorously- Hihi ^^ Great to be part of the watch.
I have loved Mordant's Need from ever since I can remember. I used to love looking at it on the bookshelf before I could read it, waiting until I was able enough to do so. My mother gave me the middle name Myste after reading this book, and I love it ^^ When I have money I shall endenvour to buy all the Covenant books (haven't read any yet) but am assured they are a great read. Really looking forward to joining in the forums ^^

It's a poor sort of memory, that only works backwards...

Be Welcome to the Watch, Quiss.
Be Well Come and True.
While we have several Watchers who are here only for the role playing games and have never read anything by SRD, I am curious if you are the first here because of the Mordant's Need series without having read any TCTC at all. As Stone says above, check out the rest of the Watch, we have topics which cover virtually everything and anything. But beware spoilers regarding the chrons, should you not want to know anything about it prior to reading it. For the first and second chrons it is generally believed we do not need to put spoiler tags nor stick with discussing it only in their appropriate forums. So you may stumble upon references to it in the most unexpected places.
I look forward to your posts.
