Almost as amazing as the Land

Post by lordjeff »

Greetings all Donaldson fans!

Site newbie, but certainly a Covenant series fan. What a grand, wonderful site in which so many have contributed. Foamfollower would be proud...

Since my first few days reading the first series many years ago, I have bought and read the first two trilogies three times (books got lost, burned, fallen apart).

I am now on my first try at reading ebook style. A little difficult without being able to page back to the maps, but going ok on my Galaxy 10. I just finished acquiring all of the audio books, but listening to the same, dull voice is definitely not the same as turning those pages with veracity.

Pardon my handle as lordjeff, it compares not with the real lords. It is just something I have (in email) had since 1995.

I appreciate all the work and time spent on maintaining this site. I hope Stephen knows what an impression he has made on us all.

Just an Earthfriend,
Jeff

Be Welcome to the Watch, l-rdjeff.
Be Well Come and True.

First, pardon the hyphen; as a Jew, it is an idiosyncrasy of mine.
Second, can we call you lj?

We'll end up calling him that whether he likes it or not. ;)

Welcome to the Watch LJ.

I note you don't mention the Last Chrons there...

Look around and join in. :D

Heh yes, I figured that would happen!

But yeah, welcome onboard, lordjeff! I'm a newbie on here as well; although from the looks of it, you're certainly much more familiar with SRD's works than I am! (I'm finishing off the second chronicles, at present)

Hope you enjoy the forums!

Hello lordjeff.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

I did read the 1st two of the final Chronicles, but have not felt compelled, as yet, to tackle them again. Somehow the magic of the 1st books seems to suck me back into them.

Greetings, Lord Jeff. I see you are speaking of how your name compares not with the real lords - such humble speech reminds of their own manner much more than the name itself. After all, there were many lords in this "real" world hardly resembling the ones from the Land. And being humble was often not their foremost virtue. As for you, we'll see better yet, unless you join those who greet but don't stay.
I have many names... and may play many roles

So that it's clear: I'm not the Lord Foul who was on the Watch before, from 26.10.2002 to 16.06.2012

I must say that the 3rd of the final Chrons is definitely the best of the Last. Felt like he finally hit his stride.

That's great to hear! Since I just started once more with LFB, my plan is to hit the 1st and 2nd, then take a little more time on the Last. Perhaps I can time it just right to finish All Things Ending before Last Dark is published.

Thank you! I am honored by your welcome and comments, Lord Foul.
