Finally unpacked my books. Tried a couple of ways of organising them, still not convinced.
1-Alphabetical by author, moving vertically, centre shelves for comics/graphic novels (I don't have enough of them, turns out).
2-Alphabetical by author, moving horizontally, comics/graphic novels at bottom.
Advice?

I organise mine by author when I have several by the same, but not alphabetically. My history books are in sort of period order. Depends on what space you have. I have about a quarter of what you have!
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Still trying variations to get these bookshelves looking good. Current iteration. Tried stacking some of the big books by same author rather than having them standing. I think it's an improvement, but now I have more awkward gaps.

You could arange them according to the color spectrum of the rainbow. Start with placing the violet ones on the left and then keep on going until you finally put the red ones on the right.I'm Murrin wrote:Finally unpacked my books. Tried a couple of ways of organising them, still not convinced.

No, no, no, wrong way round. Richard of York gave battle in vain - Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet!Doc Vader wrote:You could arange them according to the color spectrum of the rainbow.
