Greetings, Cord Hurn.
That said, it might be questionable if I'm more likely to make you read the Gap Cycle by recommendign it or recommending against it - certainly you should know that Lord Foul tells the truth, but people often prefer not to rely on my words anyway... So, what I'm going to do is leave you without further information and let you follow your presumptions and find out what you're getting into on your own
But might also wish to keep in mind that this comes from a person with a not exacty typical perception of truth, lies and facts, which means mostly thinking that the first two on the list don't exist.Hashi Lebwohl wrote:Keep it in mind when you read The Gap Cycle that I am really not all bad.

I have many names... and may play many roles
So that it's clear: I'm not the Lord Foul who was on the Watch before, from 26.10.2002 to 16.06.2012

Whoa! Hmmm.. I wonder if I know you?? I have a pretty good track record of small world phenomenon.Mekon wrote:We bought those paperbacks at the same place! That little hallway connecting the stores behind Hudsons was always my first stop. Generally my last stop, too. The bookstore and rock n roll belt buckle stand held my teenage attention.chricinda wrote: I first picked up Lord Foul's Bane (based on the cover of course as all good 11 year old girls do!) from the small independent bookstore stuck in a weird hallway of the old Pontiac Mall, and have revisited the Land many times over the years.
Pontiac Central class of 87?

Welcome Innominate Theurgist!

Greetings, Innominate Theurgist. Well, at least it appears that you have the vocabulary for the discussions you want, but it might also take the will to unlurk...

Thanks, all. By the way, I should say that I am one of those Linden-supporters that are rumored to exist...and I'm not even sorry about it!
Seriously, this forum is great. I have literally no one IRL to discuss SRD with anymore, and judging by the eloquence and lore I have read through so far, I'll love it here.

If you want IRL people to discuss SRD with, make plans to attend the next (and possibly last with SRD?) elohimfest!

Well, we might invite him again if he writes a few more books...Menolly wrote:...the next (and possibly last with SRD?) elohimfest!

Hi all.
Been a long time since I posted on a forum in this format. Hope I don't mess something up.
SRD fan since I read the Chronicles when I was 11, so about 17 years loving him. Finishing up TLC now, after which I will start a reread of the original series (I've gone way too many years without doing it). Also thinking about a reread of Mordant's Need, but I've got a friend pressuring me to read a bunch of other stuff.
Registering here to keep my interest in reading up. I've lapsed into lazy non-reading periods in recent years, and I can't stand that.
Glad to be here.

Welcome, Thyme! Ruhyn, the Ranyhyn I serve, has led me here (with me running behind as fast as I can), which I interpret to mean that I am to wish you a joyous adventure exploring this website. [Ruhyn whinnies in agreement.]
Every time I re-read the Chronicles, I discover something new, and the insights I have gained from the posts of Kevin's Watch members have further enriched my reading experiences. May it be so for you, as well. (I also love Mordant's Need, plus many of SRD's short stories).
Wishing you joy in your travels here! It's incredible how much there is to see. Hail, and well met.
