Salutations and felicitations, as SRD might say

Post by NomNomNom »

Hi all!

Just wanted to pop in and take a look around. I read the first two series multiple times and wanted to wait until TLD was out before I started the last series. I waited too long. Right now I am closing in on the end of FR and AGATE is waiting on the table. =D

Just wanted to say this is definitely the best fantasy series I've ever read and any time anybody asks me to recommend good authors, I bring up SRD. Nobody's read the books though... perhaps they are daunted or they see the covers and roll their eyes and go "oh, another fantasy series? Puh-leese."

That happen to anybody else? The series is so much more than a "fantasy series" though. It's filled with archetypes and implication. You try to explain it and you sound like a desperate fanboy/girl.

Anyway, here I can rant about the stuff all I want and nobody will want to shoot themselves in the head. I'm glad to see this place exists. ;)

Welcome to the Watch, NNN. Yeah, your experiences with telling people about TCTC are about the same as mine. Heh.

Hi NomNomNom!

Welcome to the Watch! Some of us are just back from a get together in Albuquerque for an event that SRD attended. It was great to be in a group of people where you could talk about the Chronicles without feeling like a complete doofus! Some of us still managed to overdo it, 'Uss, stop talking about Donaldson for a moment!'

Please talk to your heart's content about Donaldson here. New voices and opinions are always welcome!

Be Welcome and True!

Be Welcome to the Watch, NNN.
Be Well Come and True.

Look around, jump in, and be wary of Last Chron spoilers.

Hello NomNomNom

I've never discovered anyone apart from the people on the Watch, and my son, who has read Donaldson! Just think what they are missing! :D
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Cool avatar there nom. I hope you like to post your thoughts. This is the place.

Welcome, NomNomNom. How would one pronounce that? Is the accented syllable the first, second, or third "nom"?

Indeed, join in everywhere, especially the Think Tank. We rant there all the time.
The Tank is gone and now so am I.
