I did what? I was trying to think of a good way to tally post-counts, short of being on at midnight on the last day of the month.

Counting posts should be fairly straight forward, people post their starting total to enter the competition and tally from there. For the people who push us over the different limits, we can depend on honesty (and screenshots ). If there's any real dispute we'll simply split the prize (or award multiple prizes. It's meant to be fun, after all! ).

All in favor of people keeping track of their own progress. I was afraid I'd have to break out the Excel, and that's too much like actual Work.

So, we beat last month, but we're going to need to step it up a bit.

I don't think I suggested the competition; I suggested flogging people until we start making goals. Though some of them might enjoy it.

Sounds like a challenge (competition) to me!

I think Ali was the first to mention an actual contest. Not saying I won't help, just giving credit where credit is due.

Fine. I made the thread. I nominate you in charge of prizes. I also nominate U and Av, because I have my nominating hat on.

oh, that is great.
Took me a bit.

But I don't think I should believe it..

I was reading this one book where the author was trying to make people to think about cultures that explain EVERYTHING using fables/concrete allegories/fables. (non-Western ones... Chinese cultures, tribal ones)

And there's one point where it's like that author just busts out two different common metaphors that we use all the time and is like, "Anyone who would (blah blah blah) needs to be careful of being the pot calling the kettle black!"

It's a book on the topic of.. communication and contextualization of the Christian sacred story. (no reading all our "secret methods," sorus!)

Just kidding; no sneaky mind-control tactics.. at least, I think.
I think it's quite multi-disciplinary; it's got lots of ways to attack difficult cross-cultural problems.
If you search under "books" on Amazon for "David Hesselgrave," it's the first hit right now.

The bit about thinking/communicating chiefly in parables / fables was from:
"Concrete Relational Thinkers" under "Cognitive Processes-- Ways of Thinking."
