wayfriend - I started reading through that review and was puzzling over their response to the film, particularly on that bit about the roles of the female characters. Then I glanced up and saw "Breitbart". Ah.

Honestly, didn't know what to expect with the film, what with not having followed the series aforenow. Was yawning cavernously when the commercials began, in particular during Jurassic World's trailer. Oh look, another lizard exploding out of the bushes and everyone's tremendously baffled that something might go awry with genemanip monsters in spite of 667 previous unsuccessful attempts?

Sky Sharks starts smelling nigh-on like a fresher and more reasonable idea compared to that...

Could we perchance get some head-banging raptors playing black metal in the next Jurassic Jig? ♫

But, yes, MM was worth watching.

I can't get that product here so I would have to substitute something comparable but you have a deal. I always leave an open mind for Giantesses.

The kids may be gone this weekend--we'll see how that transpires given the state of the flooding down in Central Texas--but if they are gone then Mrs. Lebwohl and I will likely go see it.

We saw it over the weekend. Not as much Fallout/Wasteland influence as I would have thought, given that the original movies influenced both games, but some elements were present. Probably the most interesting thing of the movie was that Mr. Romero made us have sympathetic feelings towards a War Boy, who is essentially nothing more than a desert raider.

Other than the one glaring plot hole--they sure did clear all those rocks that got blasted into that narrow canyon really quickly--I won't get in to details for another week or so to give more people time to see it.

Incidentally, how exactly did Furiosa get the valuables into the rig in the first place? Didn't Immortan Joe have guards...or was he relying on his absolute control and the idea that no one would dare cross him? *shrug* I don't mean to nit-pick the movie because I really liked it and it remained true to the world of Mad Max.

An entire movie based on the premise that no one can think of shooting the f*&#ing tires.

"These kinds of stories" had like three other movies that were much more than two hour long car chases which would have ended in 2 minutes if someone had shot the tires.

For what it was, it was the worst one of all. This was not a movie. This was a two hour long trailer. This was the world's most self-indulgent and boring Iron Maiden video.
