Hello...new but not new
Thought I would say hello after posting for the first time yesterday in the art section (with a question).
I have been an avid reader of the Covenant books since the early 1980s, though I bought my first copies before the second chronicles were released.
I finished The Last Dark just before Christmas after my latest and longest marathon through The Land. With plans that tied in with the estimated publication dates for the last chronicles I started a 10 year read through, reading the last chronicles (of course!) for the first time. The readthrough actually took 11 years as The Last Dark UK paperback release was delayed!
My next readthrough will be when I quit the rat race. I've always said the first thing I'll do when slowing down is grab all 10 books and lock myself away somewhere for a while to read the whole saga in a short space of time.
Anyway after many years of reading this forum I've finally joined as (i) I've finished The Last Dark and (ii) I'm searching and hoping that fans have drawn their own maps over the years of the land.
I'd love to see far more detail than in the official versions including all key locations as mentioned in the books and perhaps key events noted. I can't believe I'm the only person that has ever thought of this or wanted it. Unfortunately my artistic skills are zero and my cartographic skills even less than that!
I'm aware of the book published 30 years ago but sadly the author is no longer with us and it is long out of print. (And of course it only covers the first and second chronicles).
A blank so far in the art section, but I hope that someone somewhere has drawn up some sketches of The Land with maps that I only have in my imagination to this point.

Welcome, andyfair! I also lurked on the Watch (for four-and-a-half years) just reading the posts, until finishing The Last Dark inspired me to join so I could talk about it with others here. At that point, I just had to become visible and converse with our fellow Donaldson fans here!
It sounds like you already know your way around here, so I'll forgo posting a key to several notable forums, as I do with some new members (but you have only to ask!).
I'm unaware of there being any maps of the Land here on the Watch, andyfair, except for these:
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/album_page.php?pic_id=1044
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/album_page.php?pic_id=1584
kevinswatch.ihugny.com/phpBB2/album_page.php?pic_id=1548
Good to have you here!

If those maps linked by Chord Hurn are not exactly what you were looking for, maybe you can try writing a few descriptiive paragraphs of the maps you would like to see.
Many Watchies here have been around for a long while - seen it, done it, worn the T-shirt inside and out - and you may have to go the extra mile to inspire more interest.
Good luck, and Welcome.
