Hello from Englemere
Hi all.
I was reminded of the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant when referring to them earlier, in another forum, on another topic.
A quick search later and I found this place...
I chose my username from a place near where I live, in Ascot, Berkshire. It is a pond in the Crown Estate, which I call "the lake from which England takes its name" ... which isn't strictly true, but maybe a forgivable excess ...
Avatar pic now refers ...
Looking forward to some interesting chats, hopefully...
Joy is in the ears that hear.
Cheers

Welcome, Englemere!
Fun that you were thinking of the Chronicles when trying to refer to them on an online forum.
Yup, this is a good place for that!
Everyone should have a beautiful place for their avatar, sometime.

"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor
"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
-Elisabeth Elliot, Preface, "A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael"

Welcome, Englemere!
I hope you enjoy reading through the Stephen R. Donaldson forums, and feel free to contribute your thoughts on these, no matter how old or new the thread may be. More thoughts from people equals more insights, equals more quality reading. Just avoid forums discussing Donaldson books that you haven't completed, for you will be in danger of encountering spoiler information.
There's also interesting discussions of other authors on this website, so please feel free to let us know your thoughts about them as well, should the mood strike you.
Other places in the Watch that may interest you:
The Loresraat - science/technology
The Galley - cooking/beverages
Vespers - music appreciation
Doriendor Corishev - history
The Close - religion/philosophy
The Hall of Gifts - creative writing
Hile Troy's Think-Tank - politics/current events
Once again, Englemere, welcome and please contribute. Too many new members just disappear after they've introduced themselves. Be an exception to that, and you will prove yourself exceptional! Be all you can be: one of the few, the proud, THE CONTRIBUTORS!
