Hey dol! merry dol! ring a dong dillo!

Thank you; if I can't be welcome and true, I'll settle for "coldly tolerated, and subtly devious!"

I've been lurking for several months, esp since I learned of the Third Chrons. I just finished Runes a few weeks ago.

This is a great forum for all things Donaldson! Glad to be here!

Yes! Hail and welcome! Be coldly tolerated and subtly devious! ;)

Excerpt from Animal Songs Never Written
"Hey, dad," croaked the vulture, "what are you eating?"
"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"

Hail Caer Bombadil, and a ring-a-ding-dillo. :D

Ho! Caer Bombadil, Caer Bombadillo!

Excellent, excellent choice of name.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Thank you!

Hail & well met, Sylvanus! I had gotten the "Tommy B = Forestal" bee in my bonnet even before I read the discussions in this forum about that idea.

Like your av! I recognize it. I have & have read that book, too. Always good to meet a fellow Lupine, assuming that's what you've indicated.

Indeed, indeed. I run a much neglected Wolfe forum in the Library. Please stop by. I'm desperate enough for posts I've considered filching topics off the mailing list.
