Greetings :)

Hello all, I just stumbled onto the watch from SRD's website, very cool place indeed.

A little about me: 23 yrs old, just finished my bachelor's degree in Sociology. I compete in strength sports and I'm an avid reader of Fantasy Fiction.

SRD has a special place in my heart because his work is the first i read in college, I'd never really read anything outside of assigned texts and my roomate kept bugging me to read The Wounded Land. This book really changed my life, not only did it turn me onto fantasy fiction, but I was dealing with a difficult time in my life and the themes and characters in this book gave me hope and something to hold onto when life was spinning in all directions.

It's good to be here and i look forward to sharing ideas and stories on The Land.

Good to have you here, storm.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Please wipe your feet on the mat or leave your shoes at the door. Thank you.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want
to test a man's character, give him power.
--Abraham Lincoln

Excerpt from Animal Songs Never Written
"Hey, dad," croaked the vulture, "what are you eating?"
"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"
