I got into the Covenant books shortly before the release of White Gold Wielder, and was in the happy position of being able to storm through all six books without having to wait for the author to write the books first!
What attracted me from the outset was the pretentious writing style which at the time seemed to add weight and depth to the prose, something which seemed important to a teenage schoolkid. For the same reason I adopted the music of Emerson Lake and Palmer as my personal favourite, the ability to have a source of inspiration which was alien to every one else in my peer group and set me apart from the others.
I was able to introduce my friends to Covenant, but not the music! I lent the books to a girlfriend, only to find that the double trilogy had found its way around her circle of friends and had culminated in a group of them attempting a Mind Meld at a night club in Scunthorpe.
I also enjoyed the other books, especially the Gap sequence. I found the Runes of the Earth a little hard going but remember that this is necessary with Donaldson - wading through the Mirror of her Dreams was more than rewarded by the sequel, A Man Rides Through.
Right - thats enough. Now I need to find one of those Avatar thingies...
Cheers,
Tim.
PS nearly forgot: I recently moved house and would appreciate suggestions of a name for the place. My initial idea of Andelain went down well with the Wife, but Garrotting Deep wasn't quite so well received. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Watch Holmestm.... Andelain is a good name for a house. I named my home "Andelaine" to pay homage, so you cant have that nameholmestm wrote:PS nearly forgot: I recently moved house and would appreciate suggestions of a name for the place.
