Back Again and starting to get well

Post by safetyjedi »

I'm finally out of the hospital and the rehabilitation ward. Had my total knee replacement surgery on the 10th of April, Came home for two days on the 24th of April and then have been back until today. I got a terrible infection in my knee and had to have the whole procedure done over again. I doing great now though. I am healing well and learning to walk again. The rehab ward was basically a nursing home and it was just awful. But the old guys took this young 46 year old in and I made some good friends there. What an ordeal!!!!!!!!!!!! My knee finally doesn't hurt constantly which is just an answered prayer. my next challenge is to move. We are moving later this month as our landlord decided to try and evict us while I was in the hospital. It didn't work but we are going to move anyway closer to family. I think I am going to go back to school and pursue my Masters and Phd in Biology or Safety. Can't deicde which. Anyway just wanted to give everyone an update. Thanks again for all of the wonderful emails and well wishes from everyone. You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

WOW
Sounds like too much stuff going on for one person to handle...although you ARE a SafetyJedi!!

But wait...they didn't have the Internet at the nursing home? ;)

Thanks everyone! No I wasn't in the NFL, just tore both of my knees and my shoulder up in the Army about 15 years ago. It's nice to be able to walk again. They had internet at the VA Med Center library, which was a 15 minute wheelchair ride and patients could only go on for 20 minutes at a time on weekdays only so I pretty much was just able to check my email once in a while. The place really, really sucked. Anyway, it's good to be home again. :D
