Is punk still alive? Does anyone consider themselves a punk any more? I doubt it! There were some classic punk tunes that still deserve an occasional listen when you have energy to expend. Alternative Ulster by SLF, Anarchy in the Uk by Sex Pistols, Ever Fallen in Love with Someone by Buzzcocks, Th...

Yeah, Ever since Harmonix left (after GH II) the track lists have been getting crappier and crappier. The reason the first two games and the original Rock Band are so great has a lot to do with the good taste of the people who made them. 2 had pretty close to a perfect track list. (Even sans Iron Ma...

I'm not a great fan of the Mario-name spin-offs. Kart is alright (some incarnations are more alright than others) but Golf/Tennis/etc always seem kind of pointless. There actually aren't many game types left for Mario to dabble in. He's done racing, most sports, fighting, RPGs, puzzlers...I think p...

So I watched Once Upon a Time in the West again a few days ago, and once again I was awed by Ennio Morricone's score. The movie stands out so starkly against all other movies of its era. This piece of music in particular is just so damn striking and timeless. At the moment, I would call him my favor...

Have you listened to In Rainbows? It's surprisingly sweet after the challenging and dark three albums that preceded it. Its probably their easiest album to listen to since The Bends. Probably the only Radiohead album I could listen to on a pretty Sunday morning. There are moments on that album of c...

I think the answer is in the first sentence. How can they precede cellular life, and thus organisms, yet at the same time not be able to survive without organisms? If I eat food to stay alive..then how could I come before food existed? I think they are being quite open minded by limiting that to &q...

Well, that is a damn good question, how DO we win the war on terror? Ultimately, will Iraq and Afghanistan accomplish anything? Will toppling Al-Quida even do anything? The world is becoming so rapidly and tightly interconnected, anyone with the will to strap a bomb to their chest can directly disru...

Wow, I'm a HUGE Radiohead fan, but my list wouldn't intersect yours at all! 1) Let Down 2) Street Spirit (fade out) 3) Black Star 4) Paranoid Android (I know everyone likes it, but it was intentially meant to pay homage to Happiness is a Warm Gun, which was mentioned at the very beginning of this th...

Yeah Mont, I caught it instantly. Raiders has the perfect 12 year old jewish boy ending. It's one of those movies you love when you ARE twelve, and later you love it because you remember being twelve. Inglorious Basterds is the kind of movie you love because you WERE twelve, but have an adult knowle...

How about the ending to Raiders of the Lost Arc? I know I had one of them as an avatar for a while, and Cail posted a gif of Belloc's head exploding at some point. www.brendanturner.net/wp-content/uploads/face_melt.jpg Anyone else notice the homage to this at the end of Inglorious Basterds ? (Anothe...
