that was probably the one major thing I didn't get in this book - in the 2nd chrons the problem was that Linden could use the magic perfectly but she didn't want to take it from Covenant. But now she seems unable to use it without a worry what it will do - I'm sure that is not a problem she had befo...

I will have to peruse through my copy of WGW to find the reference, but I seem to remember Covenant between Foul and the Arch. I think you're right. He says Foul 'can't' get past him but interestingly he also says that Foul could have won if he hadn;t tried to use white magic. As Covenant was dead ...

Interestingly when Covenant talks to Linden at the end of WGW when he tells her she has to heal the Sunbane he describes what she is seeing and speaking to as a revenant of himself and says 'I am like the dead. Anyone can make me go away.'

He has said in interviews that he has three years to do each of them but he is hoping it won't take that long each time.

^ yes but hunting implies a conscious will, if it is just acting like a magnet to earthpower then it would be right to say it is not 'hunting' him.

I thought the ceasures pursued him becase he was very Earthpower-ful and they were attracted to that. Did someone not say that in the book?

^ I agree that the Fatal Revenant need not be Covenant, it just fits with the fact that he is allegedly there at the end of runes and that I expect to get him back at some stage in these chronicles. As for the Arch of time - I had understood, and its been a while since I revisited WGW, that Covenant...

Real? In what way? Real as in the TC we followed through the first two chronicles? Real as in a TC which has some explanation for how he escaped the Arch? Real as in a TC from a previous time period? I think it is Covenant, mainly because the second book is called Fatal Revenant, but also because it...

^ and the Demondim made a bit of an effort. I think Rune may be a book which seems much better once the others are available. The set up is often not that exciting until you know the context. On the other hand there are plenty of books which provide set up AND tons of excitement. As it was I thought...

I think it is inevitable that some people who read the most recent stuff will be horrified/disappointed/pissed off because you will never please everyone all of the time. And people have had a very long time to interpret the frist two series the way they personally want. Have SRD come back and possi...

I think the UK cover looks great, I can't stand Fantasy books that have Mills and Boon esque covers of the characters standing in an impressive landscape looking dashingly over a panoramic vista.... total crap.

Well, as someone has already pointed out there is a loophole where if Covenant and Linden were meant to be around at the time of Kevin then there is no contradiction… of course again we have the problem that Kevin has seen Covenant (didn’t he?) when Elena brought him back from the Dead… but maybe he...

I can't see this being the reason for his return. Time travel, being the tricky devil it is, needs to be very well handled and I'm not sure if SRD is going to keep hold of the ball on this one. I imagine Covenant's return has something to do with Joan and Roger's arrival in the Land - maybe the pres...

The person at the end is Covenant, that’s why the next book is called Fatal Revenant I think something is going to be done with Berek being from the future of the land – there are too many people with two fingers loped off (TC, Jeremiah, the Haruchai who did it) otherwise. And although TC has seen B...
