All I've got to say is (and especially to the folks on the IMDB chat at the bottom of the IM2 page), "Will they be able to work The Mandarin into the Iron Man franchise? Have you folks actually seen the first movie?" Was I the only one noticing that the (bald) lead terrorist who kept playi...

This movie was pretty good, considering the depth, age, and complexity of the source material. Trying to make the violence and blood as shocking in a 2009 movie as it was in an 80's comic book was a thankless task to begin with, and the attempt was valiant - even if tragically so. Not being able to ...

Coraline

Okay, so it's a local flick for me (my daughter's friends parents did the faces), so I may be a bit biased, but - This was a damned fine little film. Gaimen's work doesn't always translate this well, but they did a really good job. I wouldn't suggest taking small children without seeing it first - b...

The Dreaming wrote: I also can't be the only one who approached a certain room on the 2nd level of the cathedral in the original Diablo with real and profound dread. The Butcher still haunts my nightmares.
Heh. Just put Diablo on my laptop (had to switch the video to 16 bit). "Ahhh. Fresh meat!"

On the subject of Berek's heroism: Covenant is Berek Reborn, and his heroism is based on, and increased by, his humanity and his flaws and weaknesses. It's kinda the point of the books. Why would the "discovery" that Berek was also a flawed human be surprise (much less a letdown ) in the D...

I think Covenant's conversation with The Creator at the end of PTP is going to figure greatly in his use of power, but I'm not sure that it will lead to his use of restraint.

I was very disappointed with this movie. Not nearly as good as CR. Complicated "plot" that had pointless twists and turns. Action. Talk. Action. Talk. Can we trust Bond? Action. Talk. How many movies are we going to see MI6 doubting their agent? Why did they doubt him at all? They're goin...

Other than the piss-poor acting of Leo DiCaprio, I thought Romeo + Juliet was fantastic. I didn't think Leo was all that bad (although just about everyone else kicked his tweenie butt!) - but Romeo + Juliet was the beginning of Pliss-ette's Shakespeare education. BL gets one clunker for free just f...

Ahhh, it wasn't anti-gun, so much as anti-gunman-for-hire. And quite a few of the humorous flourishes actually recall Better Off Dead. (Especially the headgear in the opening sequence!)

I think it's more likely that he will fall than be a traitor. I think his fall will be an echo of Trell's inner turmoil, and it's likely he'll Rave, after his little cord dies.

(Just a guess.)

War Inc

Just saw this. I'm a fan of dark humor, so Strangelove by way of Gross Pointe Blank is right up my alley.

Plus, god help me, but Cusak has made me like Hilary Duff.

(Boom, boom, boom/Bang, bang, bang/There's a war going on in this heart of mine...)

See now, I was right with you 'till right there. (Someone else thinks Dalton was one of the best? Gentleman, scholar, judge of good whiskey, yadda yadda!) Thing is, I mentally edit out the Roger Moore (I know they started with Sean, but that's why he left the franchise, right?) moments just to survi...

Just watched The Incredible Hulk (finally). Has anyone else suggested Ed Burns as TC? He's got the chops, and is probably one of the gauntest actors in Hollywood.

Saw the movie last week - RDJ was just incredible, and the daughter and I haven't laughed that loud in awhile. Neither of us knew Cruise was in the movie, so figuring that out was priceless.

The video was at least as funny.
