I believe this subject was covered a lot in TIW and TPTP, but not many seem to notice it - I agree with your ideas about the flaws, and according to the story, the reason the Vow failed was doubt, with which a lot of your argument agrees. They were unable to trust the New Lords completely - the grea...

Shields are a too recent invention to have any kind of effect on evolution. Not evolution as such, but that sort of thing can influence traits like muscle strength. If a lot of people with more develped muscles on the left are killed, they won't pass the trait on. Evolution doesn't have to be in mi...

Heh - yesterday I played five cards in a row - one 100WGD on the first four, then 50WGD on the last one. Best luck I've had in a long time.

Donaldson is halfway through writing book one of a proposed four books in the 'Last Chronicles'. So far we've heard a little about the basis of the plot, but nothing to give away the story (and hopefully we won't know much until we read the books).
Book one is planned for late 2004.

Only three items left (two in Encarta, one in Loresraat) - I remember a mention that these were one offs - is there any chance of stocks being refilled (in the loresraat, at least)?

Maybe those things know about gold and white gold, but are not able to use them directly, and so need a host? In return, it gives longevity? The croyel must get SOMEthing in return for what it does for the host. I believe it does mention something about what the croyel gets in return - doesn't it s...

'I was once, and may be again' - Hile Troy didn't die until the end. I had considered it this way before - it seemed obvious from the second chrons that if he died (there was no chance he survived - remember how wen he first was summoned the fire that would have killed him was passed on to Atiaran -...

Did TC ever have any choice?

I just thought of this point while making another post... In TCTC, the events all seem to have some sort of purpose, as though they are meant to happen - from beginning to end, every event is vital to the outcome. Some even seem to suggest that there was no other way events could have occured... Tak...

Interesting point about the forests needing him - It sems to me like every event inthe chrons was planned out, intended to happen - as though it was all destiny. The stories of White Gold in place so that Covenant would be treated a certain way, a series of horrific encounters on the way to Revelsto...

Norton probably will work - but it depends on the virus. I got my computer infected about a month ago, and it stopped me running any .exe file - we could only run programs from CD. We got a copy of Norton on disk, and ran it - and halfway through the scan the virus shut down Norton. Turned out it wa...

The raver's names were definately intentional - think of how the 'old' names (Herem, Sheol, Jehannum) refer to enlightenment and the spirit, but the names known to the New Lords (Moksha, Samadhi, Turiya) refer to destruction and hatred.

It all depends on the parents - for example, my parents aren't really religious. I was christened, and we celebrate christmas, but that's about it - and now I'm an atheist. People with less religious upbringing seem to be more capable of deciding for themselves about things like that, whereas if you...
