I've never understood the admiration some have for Fett--I mean in V and VI all he does is track down the Millenium Falcon and then get eaten by the Sarnac or whatever it is. Which I thought was a dumb concept anyway. As for Episode I, I thought it was too silly to really enjoy. The pod race was ba...

Land and Diary were both dire, pathetic characters that I didn't care about and generally poor all around films - I am a massive fan of GAR's zombie films, I own the best DVD editions available of all of his zombie flicks (even Land and Diary). But there is no getting away from the fact that he just...

Vallejo's work is too precise, too perfect, for me anyway, Frazetta had a way of convincing me with imperfection, his naked girls had little tummies, and over exagerated curves, his violence expressed on the faces of his characters with a tangible texture, ... time to stop or I will blather on to n...

Re: The King of Covers

All this time, and Frank Frazetta is still king. The only illustrator who ever inspired me to read something because of the picture on the cover. I was lucky enough as a boy to inherit my uncles collection of paper backs. He also was a Frazetta fan and he had an entire shelf of books by different a...

I've only read 'the stand', but I've just got hold of 'salems lot', so I'll be having a go at that sooner or later, the the post apocalypse theme is something I really enjoy though, so even if I read every DT tie in, 'the stand' would still most likely come out tops.

The Roland ending worked for me, he would have to do it all again, but this time, he had the Horn of Elde on his belt when he started out, so there is hope for him, and his entire quest could be radically different next time around. The susanah, eddie and jake as his kid brother ending was bad, real...

I would've liked to have seen a confrontation between Adama and Tyrol. Me too! Or something , anyway. Good call on Elosha, too. We have yet to learn the truth of the opera house, or the significance of the shared vision. I am also going to say that the prophecy has not been fulfilled. I can't remem...

Loved the "Farseer" trilogy, gave up half way through book two of the "Liveship" trilogy, I was really starting to dislike the herione and decided I really didn't care what happened to her. Never got around to the "Tawny Man" trilogy or whatever it was called, "the...

The people we think of as humans will all die. 6 is carrying Tigh's baby, so the skin job's life cycle is now complete; they can both create life organically and die. At some point the Toasters are going to rebel, and the whole cycle will begin again as Earth is destroyed and the "humans"...

I agree, it was a good place to take a break. Now when does it start back up? About 6 months....I don't know if I can wait that long. :( What an awesome series, I've been with it since the mini-series, loved every minute of it, "the dreaming" is 100% right when he claims that this is the ...

It will suck, there's no way around it. It'd take 4-5 seasons of a show to tell the story, and that's not gonna happen. What he said. These are seven epic novels (I just got all 7 in audiobook format, half way through book 5 at the moment), bringing the entire story to screen in a way that did it j...

When I first heard that the wise-cracking Will Smith was cast as the main role in this movie, I was outraged and disgusted...the fact is though, his performance was pretty damn fantastic IMO. I enjoyed this movie a Hell of lot more than I thought, so much so, that I bought the special edition DVD wi...

This has all happened before, and it will all happen again. Say what? By "all" do they mean everything? Has the Earth been found several times before? This is important. Very important IMO. RDM was asked about the old earth weapons in Admiral Cains quarters (old 1930's tommy guns etc) the...

Cmon! Galactica falling almost to the surface and jumping out. Badass!) I think they wanted to get us back into the old Rhythm. Just one horribly worn down Battlestar protecting humanity, looking for Earth. Trust me, Season three cooks up one of the most stunning finales I have ever experienced. (E...
