It was just over twenty five years ago, when I was travelling weekly between London and South Wales, UK, that a friend recommended the Chronicles as good reading matter during my journeys. I took up his suggestion: after ten pages I was intrigued; after fifty enchanted; after a hundred - hooked!
It must have taken me two months to read all six (then) books, and I enjoyed every single page. It's not that often that I get that involved in a series of books but I well remember, while reading The First Chronicles, wanting to take TC by the scruff of the neck to make make him fire up his magic, and the horror and loss I felt on encountering the Sunbane. However, all that was nothing compared to the emotion that was aroused in me when Thomas entered beautiful Andelain and met his dead.
So it was with some trepidation that I decided to revisit the books, a quarter century later, as so often I've found that retracing ones steps can lead to disappointment, but I wanted to read the latest books in the series, so I felt that a reread was an essential prerequisite: I needn't have worried. The second time around is better than the first, my emotional response even stronger. I just love the way that each book is so different and yet the same (if that makes any sense!

It was by accident of Google that I discovered KevinsWatch, so I just had to join and say "Hi" to fellow Chroniclephiles,
