Perdido Street Station / The Witcher Game

I grabbed up this book the other day and have been slightly broken from the standard fantasy thinking because of it. The book is definitely different in a very good way. Anyway not sure where I should have posted this but - I recently have been playing this really fun RPG called The Witcher while re...

While Daughter of Regals was very good I'm going to have to go with Mythological Beast. This story for some reason just grabbed me right away & kept me interested all the way to the end. Gilden Fire I will exclude as this is in my mind apart of the Chrons. So - 1. Mythological Beast - gripping, ...

I enjoyed this story much more than The Lady in White. I thought the husband / wife problem was very realistic and close-to-home actually. The worm thing in my mind could have been excluded and still be a cool little short story.

*drool* Could you possibly change that avatar Rocksister? I simply can't concentrate on anything printed in mere letters when that is on screen! Let alone form sentence coherent a. ;) I think it fit the Southern Bell just right. Am I'm one of those damm Yankees.. (from Ohio). From one Ohioan to ano...

I agree it's going to be tough waiting. Honestly it would be easier without Kevin's Watch, that way I'd just forget about it. But how can I stay away?? "Oh the pain...!" (as Spock mindmelds with Horta)

Wow this place is busy. Anyway, I am now done with FR and freakin loved it! I am filled with wonder & many questions as I see many are. At the end of the book the last question presented to me was - He took one step toward her, then another, before his legs failed and he plunged to his knees. St...

If I remember right, SRD described Linden somewhere... as, physically desirable to men with full breasts. Is that hot? I don't know. LA always struck me as girl who would nice to look at but not to talk to. In ROTE, I got the impression that in her early 40's her physical strength & stamina had ...

Yes SRD suprised me with those very cool acknowledgements. It's respectable that he gives credit to his realtime testing platform.

I have missed TC ever since The One Tree. You're not alone in missing the character that first turned you on to the series. If it wasn't for all the other cool characters in the second chronicles & beyond, I would have likely dismissed the books because of Linden.

When I first read about this healing I too had the same reaction. That was what Pitchwife was, a deformed cripple which maybe shaped his personality. I never really understood it, heck I would have taken the Elohim up on fixing me. The aftermath of the healing - maybe PW ran off & picked up a ne...

I just picked up FR today and have not yet quite finished ROTE (second time) I have discovered that I am not as strong as I thought I was... FR just sitting there.... so I look at the cover real close, read the back, OK everythings fine then I think what the heck, I open carefully to the definitions...

Kevin's Watch could probably make a few bucks if a Google Ad was placed right at the top of the forum for FR, or the whole series for that matter.

Who the hell is depicted? Findail? That is, of course, the million dollar question. Does it depict someone from the book, or is it generic? There are no (known) Forestals remaining. I suppose one could come into being though (or there could be more time-travel, in which case it could be anyone). Bu...

I savor anticipation. I'm not gonna wilt if I don't read FR on the first day it's out. Heck, I held onto Runes for two weeks before I read it, as I wanted to finish what I was currently reading. And then I read it nice and slow, a little bit each day, so that I could have plenty of time to ponder w...

Re: Mhoram's Overlooked Advice

In essence, it would be a mistake to break the Law of Life! But wasn't that the Forestal's choice alone? Granted TC probably could have stopped him but he was totally clueless of what the Forestal was doing. I'm confused. Let me see if I understand this. Mhoram tells TC about not avoiding snares......
