Elfwood

Its a good page if you want to find some fantasy images, but not such a good one if you want to post your work there. I don't much like the website's layout and the gallery is very restrictive to what you can post.

Plothole?

Don't know if this has been brought up or not, but I was wondering if there was an explanation as to why people from Earth (the "real world") are able to understand habitants of the Land? Do they share a common language? I think it would be silly if people of the Land spoke English :/

Can I throw in my two cents? I noticed how at a later point in LFB (when he's with the Raven?) he realises that he had indeed raped Lena and flippes out. I got a tad confused there and started thinking that perhaps Thomas wasn't even fully aware of what he did up until that point. That's a rather in...

Arthurian Legends

The only one I read as a whole so far has been "Sword in the Stone" by T.H.White. It was a really great spin off on something so old and ancient. I liked how White was able to re-write the artherian story with a modern style and still maintain the "old folk lore" feel to it. I pl...

From LFB, I thought Lena was the most interesting (peer) character. She was extremely well developed in the short part of the novel where she was portrayed, and had a lot of depth. She just sounds really fun and pleasent. Certainly not rude like a lot of other characters. Though, I have yet no idea ...

I try to stretch a good book for two weeks...course, if it just kicks total rear, I end up finish it in a day or so. -_-

two chapters a week sounds rather quick...what happens when you run out of chapters to talk about? :D

I think the actual thing that truelly mezmorizes us is not the "fantasy" of the novel, but the story and how the author controls it. Without a story, all these fantasy worlds (Middle Earth, The Land, etc) are the same and quite empty. The stories pull us into the world and make it attracti...

I completely agree. I saw the 70s version of the movie and found it stupifying. But the mini-series was really awsome....and long.

Also, I thought Children of Dune was really good and somewhat true to its prequel. Although perhaps it consentrated on totaly different things.

I'm not at all surprised, actually. There are many cases where raped victims protect their abusers (aka beaten wifes, abused children, etc). Its a matter of brainwashing. I guess Lena was pretty *dum dum* in the head. Though at first, I could never imagine her that way. I mean, she seemed very livel...
