I also would like to see the home of the Haruchai (and the giants but I doubt we'll get to see that).

I finished reading tonight a little while ago. I enjoyed this book the best thus far of the last chronicles. The last third kept opening my eyes wider and wider until that stellar Donaldson cliffhangar (he keeps doing this....). I don't know if I can deal with two years of waiting but I guess I have...

AATE is the best of the "last" thus far and I thought that beating FR would be hard, the last third of this book is as exciting reading as I've experienced in the last ten years or so..

The horror. I opened the cover and inside was the last book of Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series?

Book production plant error or Lord Foul's machinations?

Imperfection

I agree that on some levels the entire series is a study on imperfection and how you can defy your own flaws and inabilities to become in a sense "perfect" or as perfect as you can be. Look at the Brathair "I must perforce place one small flaw in my works ...or there will be no work a...

Re: A question about the ending. . .

Just finished reading Fatal Revenant, loved it, and admit with some embarrassment that I'm too lazy to look up an answer for myself: Does the Wurm of the World's End, in and of itself, actually destroy the Arch of Time when roused, or does it simply scour the world clean before going back to sleep?...

Hmmm.....

I've thought about this carefully and my thinking is this: Would it even be possible to wake the worm in the past being that all future subsequent events would then not be possible to have occurred? Another paradox. But my thinking is, Roger didn't risk waking the worm because of the fact that it's ...

Isn't it "The Last Dark"?

But I don't necessarily see it as "The End of the Land" but rather "The End of Darkness".

Unless, of course, Foul gets his way.

Look, as weird as it sounds you're not going to be able to make friends with the Worm of the World's end.

It doesn't work that way.

At any rate, I suspect Linden will feel guilty enough when she finds out she basically guaranteed Foul's Permanent Laughter boutique when the arch cracks.

!

What I don't get is why Linden reacts like she's never seen Elena before. Didn't she bitch Elena out royally in Andelain in WGW? Well, dismissed her into the ether, anyway. Right? I can't find my tattered copy of WGW. ) Yes "Do you still think you love him? What good have you ever done him?&qu...

Foul is always certain of himself but notice of his deeper
purposes he doesn't elect to speak. I get the feeling he's
concerned that he may have jinxed himself if he does this.

I have an interesting feeling of what might happen here and shattering the arch of time would certainly be something "they won't expect" but that wouldn't be ideal. Waking the worm was a big risk to get him back. If Covenant has no power and is now her "tag along useless boy" the...

Hmmm....

Whether or not SRD envisioned them prior to this series or laid groundwork for their appearance the result remains. I believe the real cause for the enmity of the Elohim and the Insequent is that the Elohim feel invalidated by the Insequent and the Insequent are merely offended by the arrogance and ...

Not quite. An Elohim was Appointed to help the One Forest resist the Ravers. However, the Forest took what it learned from the Appointed and (presumably against her will) bound her into the Colossus. Right. Remember the verse? "There can be no peace or dream where the Appointed go." The E...

I was actually very happy with the way this book went. It was almost as if ROTR was sort of a "foundation" for what happened here. So if that book was a little, I won't say "underwhelming" but it is not like this one! And in a way, this book brought me back to the joy that was Th...

Chiming in - she woke up the worm of the world's end.

Which means she'll need to use even more power to try
to fight that particular being and she'll rive the arch of time
to rubble. Rubble!
