Luci's not here right now.

Can I take a message?

I think she'll be along shortly to get it (HINT: that means Lucimay will be next)

Mahdoubt = piece of Covenant. Fascinating... Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't SRD said the Final Chronicles will bring everything (berek through WGW) to a close, to a conclusion? I know I've been inclined to think of each episode (pre-Chornicles, FC, SC, TC) as separate with a few links bet...

I think the general idea is begin loving on a simple level (superficial, in this case) and progress to higher and higher levels until one at last realizes the true form of love--that is the knowledge of pure Beauty. It's a lot like the idea of Enlightenment. Also, as far as laws and customs go, reme...

Symposium

In philosophy, we are reading Plato's Symposim (nearly finished with it). Thus far, I must admit I've enjoyed it tremendously--much to my surprise. Even though the whole thing is about Pedarestry (sp?), I find the book fascinating. I've especially enjoyed the way Socrates calls everyone else a moron...

I haven't considered the absence of Mr. Ochre robe yet. That is an interesting puzzle piece... could the Creator really be out of the loop on this one?

The best part about The Fifth Element to me is the soundtrack and how well it is woven into the movie (and the fact that the music is awesome).

And yes, I do own both the movie (collector's edition, of course) and the soundtrack. Don't own troopers yet, but that purchase seems inevitable.

Clearly SRD intended that Pokemon reference.... just like, though he always claims he's no polemicist, his entire point with the Covenant books is actually to promote tree-hugging (oh and Foul is Hitler too)

Seriously, I laughed aloud seeing that, Wayfriend. :goodpost:

Word's grammar checker: I turned the damned thing off. Those little wavy green lines make me crazy.... Whenever I have to reinstall word, turning off grammar checker is the first thing I do. 1.) it sucks 2.) if you want to learn grammar, read novels and The Elements of Style and you'll be fine--bes...

Surprisiningly enough, I liked Hero --which is odd because I generally don't like Tarrentino. What really struck me about Hero was the beauty of it all. Color was used stunningly in that film (the fight scene in the leaf-covered forest comes to mind). Also, I genuinely enjoyed the sacrifice of the h...

What Big Brother type novel in the last half century hasn't been influenced by 1984? Let's face it, Orwell was the king (or at least the progenitor).

Or maybe the triad of Covenant-Linden-Foul (Leper-Doctor-Evil Lord of Death and Destruction) will be completley switched around by the end. Yeah. Foul will have leprosy, Linden will be the Evil Lord (a.k.a. fan-service to THOOLAH) and Covenant will become a doctor. Uh, yeah.... that's what's going t...
