I got the impression (no evidence naturally) that Caer Caveral was an exception in that he was a human turned into a Forestal... the others were outgrowths of the forests and the Colossus.

I agree with the analogy between the Staff *becoming* law Pendragon and TC/White Gold *becoming* the Arch, except there's only one problem... there was a time when the Staff WASNT a part of the law. TC/White Gold always has been a part of the Arch because (due to the nature of a timeless Timewarden)...

SRD is great at psyching us out. I bet Anele is meant for something less obvious than we think... probably during AATE.

I'm betting he fixes the Durance in the next book, leaving The Last Dark for Foul and Roger resolutions.

If TC is the White Gold, then it therefore follows logically that he is the Keystone of the Arch of time. So TC becomes Timewarden in the 2nd chronicles. Being Timewarden doesn't begin at one point in time though... therefore if TC BECOMES the Timewarden he always was and always will be the Timewar...

That's what I'm saying, heh. They're all an aspect of TC that he created to ward time.

I think there are similarities, but I don't think they're unfettered per se. I still think the Insequent are a byproduct of TC as the arch, which is why they didn't exist before the last chronicles... I think Roger was telling half-truths as always and TC really IS in multiple places at once via the...

She thought TC was Berek and called out his name during the show.

this would be a profound change that dramatically affected the history of an entire race. The appearance of the Theomach in Berek's time is a MUCH more profound change than the appearance of the Vizard... so either the Insequent really DID exist throughout history and weren't mentioned until now, o...

With ALL the instability in the Arch of Time since the 2nd chronicles ended, there has to be SOME way to protect history. Roger himself (as TC) stated that many aspects of his personality were in existence doing different things at once... doesn't that allow for the possibility of the Insequent as e...

I think the DT series got away from King. He never really knew what he was doing with it and so when it came time to conclude it there was no unifying theme except the passage between worlds for him to work with.

Stave didn't 'exist' until Caesures already started playing with the past... which is to say that his knowledge of the past is necessarily suspect, as the only person whose knowledge of the past that can be trusted is Linden's (sorry THOOLAH) since she wasn't present during the alterations to the ti...

Hold on to your seats... How the Insequent are NOT a problem

We have heard many times that the arch of time is resilient... that changes to the past are only problematic if they can not be explained away; for example, Linden is explained as an Unfettered, which alters the history of the Unfettered a bit but barely budges the history of the land, thus preservi...

I'm rereading ROTE for the first time after FR and Esmer doesn't seem to be blocking Linden intentionally. Rather, Linden's use of the white gold requires her to find it within herself (Donaldson repeatedly uses the imagery of finding and opening the doorway to it). When SRD describes Linden's react...

Yeah, I agree. Esmer IS the contradiction, he's not burdened with it in the same way Anele is.
