well, now that i've made my Close debut, I suppose it's time to post here. I am a Christian. I believe God made the world. Man rebelled against Him (sinned) and thus earned the just penalty of death (hell). I believe God sent His one and only to die for our sins and now we can go to heaven if we onl...

What we seem to have here is the question of universalism--that is, can a loving God really send people to hell? The strictest inerpretation of scripture is simply: Yes. But the question isn't that simple. As others have quoted, in John 14:6, Jesus says those famous (and rather unpopular words) &quo...

reading this quaint little book right now. Maybe you've heard of it. It's by some guy from Ohio or New Mexico or India some other place like that. Really long title too:

The Gap into Power: A Dark and Hungry God Arises

Still can't figure out who the heck this "dark and hugnry god" is.

It's inspired casting to have John Hurt play the Big Brother-type gov't leader, since he had played the victimized Winston Smith (opposite Richard Burton's Big Brother figure) in the film adaptation of Orwell's 1984. That's where I've seen that guy before. Is V basically going to be 1984 only if Wi...

Remember, it's a first draft. It might need a lot of editting. See Linden. See Linden run. Run Lindin, run. See Tom. See Tom and Lindin. Tom's unambergrised guilt formicated Linden's puissant perceptions and eradicated her unalloyed thaumaturgy. Go, Tom, Go. That has got to be the funniest thing I ...

As soon as those arive I will be one happy promstar

They didn't intend to abandon the dogs. They're a research team in Antartica and they had to evacuate their people because one had frostbite, the other a broken leg. They couldn't take the dogs so they left them--intending to come back and get the dogs only a few hours later (they were flying, btw)....

There's definitley some blasphemous elements. At the end Jesus presents a very universalistic message--in particular, one that denies his deity. Obviously, that's just a tad different than "before Abraham was I AM" and "no one comes to the father except through me." Also, don't g...

I saw this show once and I didn't like it for a second. Frankly, it is utterly unbelievable--not in a medical accuracy sense (i'm too ignorant to reacognize that) but the simple the fact that anytime anyone says ANYTHING, house turns it into some sarcastic, "look how witty and bitter I am"...

In a thread in the general covenant forum, people have mentioned the parallels between Covenant and Norse Mythology (specifically Wagner's interpretation of them). SOL = odin's staff, berek = odin, loric = thor, krill = mjolnir, foul = loki, etc. well, in norse mythology, everything ends with ragnar...

I just saw this film today. To be honest, I was surprised. It's no cynamatic tour de force or anything like that, but it is a good movie. It's definitley a disney movie--and one does wonder how much they messed with. But it was just a good movie. Makes you feel good and all that fun stuff.
