I did love FR though as a book, so many cool new plot twists. My favorite character is definitely now Stave. I really liked him at the end of Runes, but for me he is what it means to truly be haruchai, not just this cheap imitation that the masters have become. He's like the uber-haruchai, the true...

I guess that either sentence of the above could be true: The victory at the One Tree was so signficant that it was a defeat for the entire race or that the particular Elohim who was guarding it was especially despised by the Insequent (or at least by the Vizard). I would guess that the Insequent's ...

Liand I believe will become the new High Lord. That's too easy. Liand's the only one in the Land outside of the Masters & Ramen that knows anything about Earthpower. So naturally the Sunder-type of role will befall him once everyone leaves. It had passed my mind as well that Anele is the Creato...

Roger will bite the cryptic apple. Maybe a few of the Humbled will also. Stave is a possiblity at the end. Anele will have a total makeover. and Jerry will be lost. I think Stave will make the ultimate sacrifice at some point. In all the Chronicles thus far, some valuable member of the Haruchai blo...

Re: The Haruchai Masters

I was wondering about the Haruchai Masters of the third chronicles. Do they operate similarly to the bloodguard of old (they are a set number, they're all males, they serve the Land for life while longing for their home and families) or do they live as families in Revelstone. Did they take any oath...

I think this is another of SRD's contradictions of character: he makes Linden out to be a whiny, annoying, "I can't do anything without Covenant" type of gal only to give her moments of strength and clarity in other situations so that she might live up to a semi heroine status like TC is/w...

" For he will save, or damn the land ..." Perhaps he thought risk of bringing about the second half of this prophecy to be too great. Yeah, he MIGHT damn the Land, so instead of taking that risk, I'll damn the Land myself. Bright boy, that Kevin. Well, in Kevin's defense, he had hoped the...

you mean as Foul's voice? Because I don't think you could have an actor accurately portray someone as ethereal as Foul.

I think DD Lewis would be great as Mhoram. Hell, he'd be great as anyone but seeing as how Mhoram is such an affable and charismatic fellow, I vote DDL over John Hurt. But one thing John Hurt as over DDL is his age as I always pictured Mhoram being a venerable sort. Ian Mclellan (sp?) would probably...

Greetings and welcome to the forum, Damack! I am a fellow newbie here and I must say that your background is quite like my own. Similarly, patience and I are not the best of friends, LOL. I would have thought that this characteristic of mine would have improved with age, but then again I still have...

Welcome, newbies, and be true. Mhoram's greatness, IMHO, is that he knew he was not infallible, knew he would and did make mistakes, but never let the blackness take over in his heart. He never despaired, he was strengthened by his love and commitment. The other Lords knew he had a secret; if he ha...

I think Mhoram is just one of those characters we all wish we had in our own lives. The kind, humble, reserved yet charismatic types that provide a beacon or hope in which to live our own lives. Another fantasy character that comes to mind is Samwise in LOTR. Certainly he's not on Mhoram's status, b...

Nom ;) But seriously, Findail's take on things might be intriguing. I'm not sure about a Foul's-eye-view though... I think it would detract from him. Foul has always genuinely chilled me, and I think seeing things from his perspective would negate the sense of his pervasiveness. Not to mention, I d...

So. Kastenessen is a "youth", I feel, in that he hasn't performed as much self-exploration as the other Elohim, and so perhaps doesn't have as deep an understanding of his responsibilities and his own capacities for darkness. I agree with this. I think "youth" here represents ex...

mentioned this in another post, but I hope to God they don't make a movie that relies too heavily on CG. I can't think of a heavily rendered CG movie that's really stuck as being of real quality. It's as if they spent all their money on F/X and skimped on the script and storyline. LOTR had a good mi...

I think seeing the wolves, the ranyhyn, the woodhelvin - all this would be magnificent eye candy and could add some leverage to the story. I have visuals on all of the creatures and characters, and the land - but no panoramic, detailed view in my head. I could never really imagine these things with...

Hi all

Howdy everyone, Someone mentioned I should introduce myself so here it goes. Just recently finished FR, and I scoured the web to find out when the next book was coming, and it just so happened that I've stumbled across this website where lo and behold there are others like me who are enamored with t...

I think his biggest lucky break was when Lena saved him during the winter storm and he broke his ankle in the process. Lena died and he was alone in the storm until the Unfettered one came upon him (or he found her, can't remember) and was ultimately saved so he could continue and fight Foul.
